about

Flicker is one of the oldest songs I've written. I've been listening to a silly acoustic demo of the song for more than 15 years. I made a few minor adjustments to a couple lines here and there and the chorus was reworked a few years ago. With that being said, fairly true the the acoustic demo from so many years ago. A song about life being too short to waste and how difficult that is to remember each day.

I asked my pal Elliot Hilton to play a bit on it and he added a majestic interlude during the bridge.

Do you see through me?
Because you won't listen
Now I feel we're throwing time away
What is it I've done
That's made you want to run?
Well, I know and that's the pain I feel inside
Dad said so long ago
That life is way to short
To spend it all wondering what might have been

I've got so much to say
But my heart is at the end of it's rope
Daylight so grim as it's growing old
But I'm going to risk it all to find my way

You ran me over
With your Cadillac of personality I can't believe
Something has you so down
To make you wanna run
Away for good it can't be all that bad
You sit it in your room
You waste it by yourself
The flicker of the box is all you see

I've got so much to say
But my heart is at the end of it's rope
Daylight so grim as it's growing old
But I'm going to risk it all to find my way
